Well, it’s time…time to start thinking about my twentieth birthday. For most people, twenty years is a very easy age to hit–most of your life is ahead of you, and the things that were so important in your teens are behind you. But I’m not exactly like most people. And the things that were really important when I was in high school still haven’t left me yet.
That means I’m stuck with them for another year or two at least–and it also means that this year, I can buy myself something nice for my twentieth birthday instead of just receiving well-meaning though usually unwanted advice from relatives who think they know what’s best for me because they had kids five years before I was born (which, by the way, I’m pretty sure is not a qualification for parenting advice).
Anyway, enough about that.
Let’s talk cake. What should I have for my twentieth birthday cake? Something chocolate, obviously–I’m not quite sure what flavor, but it’ll definitely be chocolate. Maybe a nice dark chocolate with some raspberry filling or something like that? And I’ll need some candles on top…maybe twenty of them? That sounds like a good number.
So there you go.
